    Republic Day 2016 celebration at Rajdanga Office Building

    Women's Day was celebrated on 8th March, 2016 by the lady officers of our department (in co-ordination with the Library officials), in the form of a programme, consisting of song and recitation, at the Central Library, KUSB, 4th Floor - concept and co-ordinator of the programme - Shri Dinesh Bhoyar, Joint Commissioner, Central Excise, Kolkata-I Commissionerate.

    The 'Hindi Diwas', in the form of 'was celebrated by the officers and staff of Kolkata-I Commissionerate on 11.02.2016', whereby various programmes were organized by the Hindi Cell in the form of 'Kabita Path', 'PustakUnmochan' and a Quiz programme in Hindi conducted by Shri Dinesh Bhoyar, Joint Commissioner, Kolkata-I Commissionerate.

    Central Library at the 4th Floor of KUSB was formally inaugurated on 24th February, 2016 by Shri Rakesh Sharma, Chief Commissioner, Central Excise, Kolkata Zone-entire process of setting up of library was done under the active guidance of Shri Dinesh Bhoyar, Joint Commissioner and Shri Ajit Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Kolkata-I Commissionerate.

    Quiz programme - on the theme of Harappa to Farakka - in memory of Late B. Talapatra, CAO, Kolkata-I Commissionerate - was held on 30th November, 2015 - which was attended by officers from all cadres of different Commissionerates - Quiz Master - Shri Dinesh Bhoyar, Joint Commissioner, Kolkata-I Commissionerate

    A multi-lingual programme was held at the Central Excise Library, KUSB on 13.04.2016 on the eve of the Bengali New Year 1423. Officers from all cadres participated actively, in the form of recitation, songs and story. In an effort towards raising awareness for spreading respect and understanding towards all communities from across India (by knowing each other in the form of knowledge sharing, at the Library), the regional language programme included Geet, Kavita Path and HasyaKavita, which was applauded by one and all present in the hall. Apart from all regional languages, with Hindi being the foremost, performance was also done in Bengali language, which portrayed the evolution of Bengali Language in the sphere of poetry, drama, literature, cinema and songs from the era of Rabindranath to the current generation, in the form of a story, themed as "Gaane, Golpe.... Adday"

    Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a cleanliness campaign run by the government of India and initiated by the Honourable Prime Minister. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is a Swachh Bharat mission led by the government of India to make India a clean Country. This campaign was launched officially by the government of India on 145th birthday anniversary of the great person, Mahatma Gandhi on 2 nd of October, 2014. A programme was celebrated by the officers and staff of KUSB on 31.05.2016 under the leadership of Sri Rakesh Sharma, Chief Commissioner, Central Excise, Kolkata Zone. The officers took pledge to make surroundings clean and devote 100 hours a year for this cause. Plantation of trees was also made to mark the occasion.

    A felicitation ceremony for meritorious students, who got 85% and above in Class - X and Class - XII in the year 2016 of the employees of Central Excise, Customs & Service Tax was organized at the Auditorium Hall of KUSB on 2nd June'2016.

    The Yoga Day Celebration was held at the Auditorium of Kendriya Utpad Shulk Bhawan on 16.06.2016, 17.06.2016 & 21.06.2016. Officers from all the Commissionerate under Central Excise, Kolkata Zone participated on the above dates. It is noteworthy to mention that a total of 116 officers and staff attended the Yoga Workshop on the 2nd International Yoga Day on 21.06.2016, with much enthusiasm and zest. The chronology of the events held are as under: 16th June 2016: Talk on awareness on Yoga by Swami YadavendranandaJiMaharaj, respected monk from the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, Kolkata, from 12 noon to 1.00 PM at the Auditorium of KUSB.
